I design and weave wool tapestries. Originally from the Midwest, I have lived and worked in New York City for many years as an artist, lawyer, arbitrator, and dancer and raised four children.
Living between the high desert of Colorado and urban environment of New York City has placed the politics of fragile landscapes at the center of my artistic research. I approach broad subjects such as climate change and ecological sustainability with the personal lens of local narrative, stories that are told by individuals who have an intimate connection to land and place. My practice engages a documentary style of research that involves photography, local interviews, audio recordings, and collected objects, resulting in works that straddle the line between fact and fiction.

Rarely do I start a project with a particular design plan in mind. Instead, my approach is …
