Technical Skills Assessment (Simple Form)

We are asking all ART CART participants to help us to help you by telling us honestly your level of knowledge and comfort with various aspects of the technology we will be using. This way, we can develop resources where people need help. Please spend a half hour on the following questionnaire and complete it no later than December 15. The results will be discussed early in the new year. Many thanks for your help.

On a scale of 1 – 10, with 1 being uncomfortable and 10 being very comfortable, please rate your comfort level with each of the tasks below.

Tech Skills Assessment - SIMPLE

  • (a) starting your computer (b) viewing your screen well (is the font big enough?) (c) using your mouse or trackpad (Can you see the cursor when you use it? Is it slow enough for you to work well, or do you feel it moves too fast? (d) finding files on your local computer (For example, on a Windows machine, this would involve Windows Explorer and on a Mac it would involve Finder.) (e) creating a folder on your computer (f) dragging a file from one folder to another (g) deleting a file
  • (a) finding a website (any) and visiting it regularly (b) downloading a file online (c) finding a file you have downloaded onto your local machine (d) unzipping a dowloaded file that has been compressed (e) performing a simple web search using a search engine (like Google.com) (f) performing an in-site search for specific information on a website (g) filling out and submitting a web form
