If you wish to upgrade your EmbARK software to the latest version released Oct. 13, 2015, please follow the instructions below. In class we installed 9.5. This upgrade is for 9.5.5.

Installation Directions
Please note: The version 9.5.5 update files should only be used if you have already installed version 9.5.
- Windows Single User Installation:
Note the location path of your EmbARK datafile. (This can be accessed by choosing Setup from the EmbARK FILE menu and then clicking the General button. The datafile path is displayed at the bottom of the screen.) Your data file should be in the “Embark Data” folder we created. - Quit out of the EmbARK application.
- Recommended: Make a backup copy of your datafile to a safe location. (Be sure to copy the .4DD, .4DINDX, and .Match files.)

- Locate the download file and be sure to decompress the files out of the zip format. Copy the “EmbARK955u_win” folder to the Desktop.
- Open the folder called “Copy to Database folder” and copy the 3 files located inside of it.
You will see files with the same filenames as the newly downloaded ones. Paste the new files into the database folder (over-writing the existing ones). - Restart EmbARK. (Launch EmbARK.exe and navigate to the location of the datafile noted above. Recommended Note: Right-click EmbARK.exe and choose “Run as Admin” when launching. This provides elevated rights to run an application like EmbARK. You can set this as a default by right-clicking EmbARK.exe, selecting Properties, then go the “Compatiblility” tab; click the checkbox called “Run this program as an administrator”.
- You should see version 9.5.5 in the upper corner of the splash screen after logging into EmbARK.
Macintosh Single User Installation:
- Note: If multiple users login to EmbARK on this workstation with their own ID, this update will not provide the correct permissions for all accounts. In order to have proper installation, you must use a full EmbARK installer. Please contact EmbARK Support with any questions.
- Note the location path of your EmbARK datafile. (This can be accessed by choosing Setup from the EmbARK file menu and then clicking the General button. The datafile path is displayed at the bottom of the screen.) Your data file should be in the “Embark Data” folder we created.
- Quit out of the EmbARK application.

- Locate the download file and be sure to decompress the folder out of the zip format. Copy the “EmbARK955u_mac” folder to the Desktop.
- Copy the EmbARK file in the download folder.
- Rename or delete the existing EmbARK file (typically loaded in the Applications folder), then paste the new EmbARK file into the existing EmbARK application directory.
- Restart EmbARK as normal. Navigate to the location of the datafile noted above.
You should see version 9.5.5 in the upper corner of the splash screen after logging in.
